I am on levimer and want to low if insurance companies can cover just the pen? supplying no coverage on needles. I am in a group plan. I live in Maine. Thanks , nancy

Now that's a 64 thousand dollar question. I think the answer depends on your policy. My policy covers them although there is a co-pay.

Here again, who is paying the finale tare.

Having used lantus - bottle plus syringes versus pens, the pens ALWAYS cost a lot more as there is still small needles needed as well on the pen plus complex mechanical plunger system.

Best to call your insurance to find out. Afraid no one here can tell you what your plan covers.

Sorry I wasn't clear. insurance companies can pick what they want to cover as part of their contract. So, yes needles do not have to be part of the contract. Just one more thing we need to buy. I am visually impaired so a pen is something I can use. Thanks for the answers. Nancy
