Okay.  Wondering if anyone here has tried the NutriSystem D plan with Type 1 diabetes?  I'm only looking to shed about 10-20 pounds- nothing major... and I hardly ever eat.

Is it worth it for me?

My Triglycerides are actually on the low side.

My A1c could stand to come down- 8.6%

My typical blood glucose readings are between 100 and 200, though there are definitely spikes down to 35 and up to 290.

I typically have a shake for breakfast, no lunch, and then a balanced (low carb) dinner, and maybe a salty snack at night.

I'm not an eater.

Am I going to be bogged down by all the meals they send?

And is $11 a day really that hard to beat?

I guess I'm around $5 for coffee in the morning, plus $6 for dinner (if I go out)... so $11 is good, even though it's including two more meals than I would normally eat?

Has anyone tried this?

I'm not looking to lose weight (if I do, it's a plus, but it's not my main goal).  I'm moreso looking at this as a dietary plan to help me gain control over my BG readings.

Not sure about the Nutri System D plan but the I had a friend that used the regular plan. He said he did loose the weight but the food was loaded with lots of salt.

I am turned off by the plan because of the advertising. They had Julian Barbari Reynolds on there. She is a fixture on tv here in Los Angeles. The woman has always the size of a bean pole till she got pregnant and seriously ballooned out. Those pix on the ads are of her after her pregnancy. She constantly has to excersice to maintain that appearance with or without nutrisystem.

Before you purchase the meals, call them and let them know your condition. See if they they allow you to talk to a nurse/doctor or if they are following a script. find out if theos foods have extra preservatives and other stuff that may raise you BS. The may use a sugar alcohol to sweeten the veggies....How do you react to this. Find out what is the return and cancellation policy is just in case you don't respond to the food.

If it works for you please let us know I will try it!!!

I hope this helps....

IT IS ALIVE!!!

Am considering the N-D and wonder if you had succeeded Marps? Hope so!
