TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

our friend travis grubbs and i were discussing pet peeves and we thought i would be a great idea to start up a forum for it. i thought at first to just limit it to diabetes, but thought i would be even more fun to widen the spectrum. so from mild to wild. from something as easy as everyday peeves to even something as silly as what your dog did today. let's have some fun and lay em out there.

my first pet peeve is my family's love of using their forks to get butter out of the butter bowl. knowing that it drives me nuts.

now it's your turn....what's your pet peeve?

- Red eye in photos drives me crazy, esp in stuff like holiday cards and wedding slide shows.
- Impatient drivers who honk behind me b/c they feel I'm not making a turn fast enough irritate me. If I had magical powers, I would make it so that every time someone did that to me they would lose bowel and bladder control on the spot.
- And right now my cat is annoying me by sitting right in front of the monitor. I move her. She comes back. sigh.

People who leaves their carts in the middle of the supermarket aisle...

People who will let their dogs out to poop ...and not cleaning up after,,,

And yes, I agree...driving and text messaging! AAAGH!

People don't leave shopping carts in the middle of aisles here, because if they do, they don't get their quarters/loonies back. Almost all the major supermarkets make you pay a quarter or a loonie to use a shopping cart, and you get that quarter or dollar back when you return the cart. This has led to many fewer abandoned shopping carts.

* People who stop to chat with their friends in doorways and other high traffic areas.
* Noisy people who walk past my flat after a night out.
* Pedestrians who don't understand that standing in the middle of the road and/or crossing slowly puts them in danger
* Restaurants and coffee shops that don't serve sugar free drinks
* People who can't make decisions and commitments and stick to them. I get stressed out when trying to coordinate my life with people who refuse to commit to a plan. It wastes my time and is disrespectful!

family members who take my car out of the garage to work on their assorted vehicles and then don'y put my car back,

those who don't put the toilet cover back down.

the guy who leaves the local free paper and hangs it on the mailbox instead of on the hook at the bottom of the mailbox. i've told him not to leave the paper here anymore and he does it anyway. come spring when the snow melts i always find a few waterlogged musty papers on the ground.

I hate it when people dont close the doors to anything,,,,,leaving the kitchen cabinets ajar,,,,leaving dresser drawers half open or closing them with all kinds of stuff hanging out,,,,not closing the door behind them when they go out of the house,, or slamming it or slamming the car doors or leaving the closet doors open,,,hummm,,,do I have a door problem?

your right....biggest one is leaving a car door open when it's freezing cold outside and there are people trying to stay warm in it.

- People who brake before using their turn signals.

- People in large vehicles who pull up to a stop you were already at in the next lane and pull too far forward blocking your view.

- People who suddenly realize they're in the wrong lane and need to turn soon and SLAM on their brakes stopping traffic, OR who will block a straight-only lane in an intersection, sitting there with their turn signals on.

- Mixing up your / you're, they're / their / there on a regular basis. Typos and just not paying attention mistakes, I completely forgive. But the adults that truly don't know the difference--RAWRG.

- The misspelling of DEFINITELY. Just looking at definately, definatly, and defiantly (when used to mean definitely!) makes me insane.

- Texting shorthand. U / ur -- it's two letters people!

- Typing Every Word In A Post With A Capital Letter

:)

I'm so with you about definitely. Drives me crazy! A good way to remember is that "finite" is its root.
