As a follow up to my discussion on the incidence/prevalence of Type 1 in children and adolescents, my research has revealed that in a regional high school there is a 1% incidence. When confronted with the number, I was astounded. The number supports the data suggested by members in other discussions. While I still have a strong resistance to believing that the incidence is that high (I believe this is an aberration), I am beginning to lean toward the beliefs by those people who think the CDC data are too low.
