There are some things I just can't handle BG-wise, things that, of course, I crave! I sometimes think of them as being in my D food graveyard, headstone and all.
Today the food I missed the most was bagels. Everything bagels. Everything bagels with lox, cream cheese, and a sliver of onion.
RIP bagels ;(
What's in your D food graveyard?

I'm drinking my morning cappuccino, Molly. It's a coffee hour! With wi-fi! I usually drink flavored espresso of one kind or another, hazelnut being a favorite. I use almond milk in mine to reduce carbs as well as calories. Took some getting used to but now I like it. As long as it makes good foam I'm happy.
Permalink Reply by Ren on February 1, 2013 at 1:00pm Hi Molly. Have you tried steel-cut oatmeal? It is terribly low on the glycemic index (under 45, I've read). I make it with dried fruit and it is surprisingly yummy!
Permalink Reply by Buckley83 on January 30, 2013 at 6:15am Erm.. Depresses me to think about this one :)
Rice (brown allowed), pasta, bread, cereals, potatoes, most sauces, the vast majority of fruits, soda, fruit juice, sweets, crisps, chips, chocolate, pastries, pizza.. etc..
Pretty much all I eat these days is lean meats, greens, brown rice, eggs and cheese!
Permalink Reply by Cth07 on January 30, 2013 at 7:44am I agree, cereal is a big loss...I'm not to the point of "giving up" on a lot of my fav's. I'll pay for it I'm sure!

Permalink Reply by Clare on January 31, 2013 at 5:55am bagels - Panera Bread Asiago Cheese Bagels toasted with butter, white rice - you know Minute Rice the kind that was a staple in your house growing up, pasta. OK so I listed all the classic "white foods". But I also really miss a ripe juicy peach in the summer or nectarines or clementines. And while I realize I can in fact have them, the bs consequences make me look elsewhere. I have never been a huge fan of desserts but pain au chocolat with all its' buttery goodness is something I crave. I like the term food graveyard and considering this discussion was posted only a few days ago, there are already 5 pages of responses so I guess a lot of other PWD have their own food graveyards.
Permalink Reply by keith on January 31, 2013 at 10:25am Actually nothings really in my D food graveyard, just not as often nor in the amounts I -used- to consume. Yep, I still have ice cream --- now & then, and just a serving, I no longer consume 1/2 a pint, or more like I used to. Who knew? Yea, apparently there's 4 servings in a pint! Same with cookies, I look at the suggested serving size and 2's enough. Moderation works for me. Plus, hop on the bike for a spin around the neighborhood - before or after meals.

Permalink Reply by Donna H on January 31, 2013 at 11:23am If I do not count every baked good or candy (both of which I admit I will indulge in with good advance planning and sufficient bolus)and I just go to the not so indulgent stuff -- it is hands down for me PASTA. It sends me skyrocketing and I have to flood myself with insulin to turn off the impact. It just doesn't like me one bit.
