Not sure if this is a widely known approach towards satisfying pizza cravings with minimal carbs, but I've started making pizza with a sausage crust.
Got the idea from Gino's East in Chicago - their sausage pizza has one piece of sausage that's a patty about the same size as the pizza. After a few attempts, it's fairly replicable.
Making one later today, can document and post later if there's any interest.
Cheers,
jah

Ok - will document it tonight and post over the weekend. Just did the math and if I cut it into 10 slices it works out to less than 5 carbs a slice; which is good because I generally eat two anyway.
Of course this is a pizza variant so it's not overly healthy, just low carb.
OK - I've finally made time to post the Meatza recipe, works out to 5.3g carbs due to mozzarella mostly. Next time will hunt for a whole milk mozzarella and see if I can get the carb count down. The Meatza
Permalink Reply by Brian (bsc) on January 27, 2013 at 12:54pm I love these sorts of recipes. Mine is slightly different, I make it in a pie pan and it really has a lot of meat and cheese and is served as more of a pie. I call it the "Pizza Pie Pie."
