Lets talk real snacks
Flax & Snax Wild cherry nut Granola = 2 total effective carbs per 1/2 cup GREAT TASTING
Carb Smart Chocolate cover ice cream bars 4 carbs
Butterscotch pudding sugar free and made with Hood no fat milk (3 carb milk)

It is a snack, but I have it for breakfast almost every day, fresh strawberries with splenda add over short cake made with Carbquik 2g net + 3carb milk added instead of being made with water and then whip cream. I don't feel like life is totally cheating me on eats as there are many great new low carb products out there you just need to look and order online.

You're lucky to be able to eat sugar alcohols without getting stomach aches & the runs. I can't handle sugar alcohols. Aside from making me feel ill, sugar alcohols cause my BG to spike.

I ordered Carbquick but have not used it...I need to research recipes. What is 3 carb milk?

We have a store chain called Albertsons and some of there stores carry Hood Calorie Countdown brand milk, in no fat, low fat, and chocolate. The milk has all the sugar removed except 3g or three carbs and has Splenda added. Only 45 calories and added with special K high protein cereal only 9 carbs. a great way to lose weight.
Hope you can find a store that carries Hood it make life so much easier for breakfast and when you need to bake. Since carbquik is so low in carbs I add low fat Bisquick in with the Carbquik (3 carbquik to 1 bisquick) it makes thing a little fluffier, I also add splenda.

Thanks SD! We don't have Albertsons. I know I have seen Hoods somewhere I've lived. I'll look for it here. That milk sounds great. I used to be a 2 glass a meal girl and have done practically without since my diagnoses 5 years ago....I just can't get my BS under control with it. I miss milk and cookies more than cookies! I think that I have heard of a national brand....Carb Smart or something.

Chedder Cheese - love it - but must avoid it as I find it leaves my blood sugars high next day if i eat it at supper! - which i try to aviod doing! - Suzanne - I'm like you with the Sunflower seeds -but also nuts - I have to restrict them to quite small portions !! - as I can find I get a delayed hyper result with them ! - and its restricting them that is the problem !!

Low Carb macaroons are easy to make and about 1 gram per cookie. You can melt 70% chocolate and dip them if you want to fancy them up. :

1 1/3 cups unsweetened shredded coconut. (I buy mine from Whole Foods bulk section.)
1 tablespoon vanilla whey protein powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Splenda powder
1 3/4 tablespoon DaVinci Amaretto sugar free syrup (you can use other flavors if you don't have this one, or substitute 1/2 tsp almond flavoring)
3/4 teaspoon Almond extract
2 medium egg whites

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Mix ingredients together in a bowl in order given.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto a lightly greased baking sheet. These do not spread out so you can put them close together. I usually make 24 from this recipe.

Bake at 325 degrees for 20 minutes. Edges of cookies should be light brown.Remove from cookie sheet immediately.

Nutritional Information for each Macaroon (24 total): Calories: 17, Carbs: ~1 gm Fiber less than 1 gm, Fat 1 gm, Protein 1 gm.
