Diabetes patients in Hungary are punished if their A1c's are too high!!

Thanks for your explanation Kristen ...this makes more sense . Some on pump therapy or those , who are in Canada advocating for pump therapy may question if cutting down the benefit would be more effecient .I seem to be one of them . I also stongly feel , that under programs such as in Hungary , the rest of Europe , certainly Canada , that one dollar spend on diabetes management , 4 dollars will be saved later ...I am proof , after 30 years living with d . We still have to learn much from your second last paragraph as our programs are Provincially driven .

Nel, I agree that pumps are a good investment!! I just think that analog insulins are even more important! I don't think that they will save money in the long run by cutting support for diabetes supplies now!

Thanks so much Kristin! It isn't as bad as I thought, now that I see that. My CGMS is not covered either and I have big copays for some meds. Some other meds are not covered by my insurance plan.

Your English is perfect. Were you a resident of the US at one time?

I'm a US citizen, but live in Hungary because my husband is Hungarian. So that is why my English is so good! :)
