Hi all,
I have been type 1 for 23 years and had my first heart attack at age 31- 3 stents. Then I had my second heart attack at age 33- 5 vessal by-bass. Am I the only one that has gone thru this at such a young age? I have got my diabetes under much better control-last A1C was 6.4, but I would really like to find someone/group that can relate-although I would be sorry that they could relate.

Wow, I'm sorry you had to go through that! How scary. :( I'm 29 and have had Type 1 for 20 years and did not realize people around my age could have a heart attack. I hope you don't have any more heart problems in the future!
I haven't had a heart attack but I did have a hypo that the paramedics got involved in. I was able to beg off going to the hospital but they noted an irregularity in the EKG and said "go to your doctor **immediately**. It ended up that they did about $15K worth of tests and didn't find anything but were like "we'll refer you to a cardiologist [implying "and want $15K more worth of tests..."} if you want but I blew it off. I wrote a blog about it HERE but haven't had much else happen with it.
