type II insulin dependent diabetic
my husband and myself have found ourselves with no jobs and no medical insurance. Does anyone know if any organization or anything that will help me get my diabeties supplies for free until we get back on our feet?

Some counties in Texas have programs that assist you in getting the needed supplies. Medicines, testing supplies, etc. Contact the local welfare office and they can point you in the right direction. I had to use their services before my Medicare kicked in.

I only say this because a lot of people don't know how cheap some supplies are.. The ReliOn Confirm meter at Walmart is only $12.95 to buy and $20 for 50 strips. They even sell a 20 strips box for only $9 and you could just test a little less often. It's a very cheap yet very accurate meter according to several independent studies I've read. Good luck!

Since you don't say exactly what supplies you need, it's hard to give a really good answer. As others have said, check with the specific companies for your meter/strips and meds. Most have assistance available. Strips for name brand meters can also be found - cheaply - on Amazon & Ebay. Some generic meds can be had on special pricing programs at Target, WallyWorld etc.

I am running into the same Problem with my medications. I have been in the Donut Hole since April, this year, my Lantus and Novolog are @ 100%. Add my Cancer medication, Inhalers and Insulin each month and my Social Security check is gone. Food is hard to come by at times and that cost is going up also. I have called many groups offering assistance but, to no avail. These groups want the income of both myself and my husband with pensions included. Their answer to me is that are income is over the qualifying amount. If you find any help please, let me know. I am two thousand dollars under what I need to climb out of this hole. Call the manufacture of your insulin and let them no you have no insurance, they can give you some leads on who you can call. They may also send you a 3 month supply of insulin since you have no insurance.

The State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) is a national program offering one-on-one counseling and assistance to people and their families on Medicare.
