I just got the wrong test strips at my pharmacy (someone else picked them up for me and didn't realize they weren't the correct ones), anyway the pharmacist told me they will throw them away if I return them, so my question is, does anyone know where I can donate these test strips? I can't imagine throwing away 400 unused test strips just because of a mistake! Please let me know!
What brand, I know of a local group around where I live that helps people who do not have insurance get supplies. I would be willing to send you there information :) (you would also get a tax write off since they are non profit if in the USA)
Are they opened, why can't the just be returned and credited back to your insurance? Don't they come in a number of different unopened boxes..why would they 'throw them away' if they haven't even been opened?
They'll give you 400 for a one month supply? I'm only getting 300-- and kick myself if I waste one, feel like I have to ration them. Never even occurred to me I could maybe get more-- guess I just assumed that must be the max my insurance would cover
your doc, endo may have to write a pre-auth to get more..maybe not you can check with your insurance company to see if they have a limit and need a pre-auth from doc for more. i'm getting 400/month, especially since I'm going on a pump.
You can donate them to: http://www.isletsofhope.com/
Also, your local VA would love to have them. What a generous thing to do Lacey, thank you :)
Not to sound petty, but there may also be people right here on this board that have limited resources and would love the strips if you mentioned which kind they are.
