Dear TU folks,
I can't stab my fingers because I play guitar and after a few minutes my fingers begin to throb painfully. About 20 years ago, when very low blood was required by the latest meter, I began stabbing my forearm instead. I began with a Freestyle meter and every meter since worked well. I saw an ad on TV by BB King who used his forearm because he complained about pain in his fingers while playing guitar.
I have always used the same stabber for at least 100 tests, and I have never used all the stabbers that came with any meter before I get a new meter and that would be 10. The duller it gets, the more blood is available for the meter and I have never felt any pain whatsoever on my forearm. I usually break out a new stabber on new years eve, so once a year. Every 5 years I have to throw away the old meter along with 5 unused stabbers. I only test several times a month.
Do any of you use stabbers that long, and also does anyone use the forearm for testing?
Any guitar players out there? I would love to hear from you.
