Went to Walgreens today for the free testing they are doing. Easy in, and easy out. Even got to spend quite a bit of time talking to an RN who is a T1 for 30 years, about issues, and things I have had on my mind. We talked about numbers, what she recommends, and what others expect, along with meter accuracy and her experiences with it. So far, the only person I have ever talked to who thinks testing more than once a day is all I need, is my own doctor. She was shocked that he would do that. Made me feel better. We both use the Ultra One Touch Mini. She says hers is nearly dead on when she checks against lab results. I guess that could be a new pick up line for singles. "what's your meter?" :-)
Anyway, they used the Bayer test device, which I read is as accurate as the lab. Took five minutes for the result. When I was dx'd in early July, I was 6.8. About 5 weeks ago, I was 5.5 by the clinic lab, and today it was 5.0. Wow! I'll take that.
Anyway, no one around here to tell it to, so you folks get to listen to my story
