Ok so we all complain about diabetes but there is some good that comes from the bad right??

Heres what I love about diabetes..

1. I get to explain to any one that will listen that I have diabetes and that I am fine
2. I get to get a pull the "I have a low" card and eat a snack in the middle of the work day.
3. I get to explain what my pump is to any one that asks "what is that?"
4. I get to carry a GIANT purse every where I go.
5. I get to be on first name bases with all of the pharmacy workers.

I love diabetes because I have to live with it the rest of my life!!!

I can call myself WONDER WOMAN ...pump attached , sensor attached ,exercise tights/leggings ( sp ?? ) are snug , at age almost 70 not BAD ... how lucky can one gets !! Thanks to DIABETES :-) ??
But Nel, my beloved friend, what about that torch thingey---you know??!!!
if you ever need a break at work you could always use the diabetes card...:D
- I have an excuse to help people understand their bodies and their metabolisms
- I live "like I'm dying" (as my mother told me... oh, wait, that's kind of mean)
- I'm brave and I know that I'm brave
- My bonds with the friends who know about my D are unbreakable
- I'm compassionate
- I'm terrified, humble, insecure. So many people have told me that I'm really pretty. And if it weren't for the D I think I'd be such an a****** bitch bimbo. So, thanks for keeping me human diabetes!
- I don't have to deal with stupid, selfish, arogant, obnoxious men because they wouldn't be the ones strong enough to love me anyway. So, it's an easy way to "weed out" the jerks.
1. The great support I have with friends and family(keeps me more in touch and motivated!)
2. Well balanced diet which in turn creates a great silouette.
3. Talking about my omnipod to everyone who's interested.
4. Sounds selfish but a little more popularity!
5. Feeling sexy because from switching to the pump I have lost seven pounds and feel more confident about myself overall.
Having diabetes isn't quite bad at all when you can list things that benefit you from having it. Lets all turn the frowns upside down - a well managed diabetic will be a long lived diabetic!
great blog!
You may have gotten a little carried away, but that cool.

I don't think I love diabetes but it's helped me:

1. Eat better and make sure my kids do too.
2. Get serious about running.
3. Cook more - Chinese and Pizza are not welcome anymore.
4. Appreciate every thing I have.
I am rather sheepishly admitting to this. The big D got me dismissed from jury duty this last time I was chosen. I'd only been on insulin for 6 months and my numbers were still swinging around a bit. The doctor and I were trying to figure out which insulin I needed and what the dose would be. Not to mention that I needed to gain 30 pounds so eating early and often was not something I could blow off.
Christina---This happened to me as a T2 when I was so new to it all a few years ago----diabetes and fibromyalgia---dismissed by the judge. I was sad and ashamed. I wanted to serve; had prepared myself carefully. But the judge said No way. I know more now and may try again. It was one of my first profound connections as a newbie at TuD (only 800 members or so then!) because I had never before tested in public and was nervous about That!
Thank you for this! Usually I hate my diabetes, trying to look at it differently!!
For me - diabetes has made me a better/understanding person. I can't imagine myself any other way.
I have become a much more healthier and physically fit person

I embrace every moment of life

I've learned how to compile my success and motivation into other things in life

I've met amazing, strong people like all of you guys on Tu Diabetes :)
aw. :)
