Ok so we all complain about diabetes but there is some good that comes from the bad right??

Heres what I love about diabetes..

1. I get to explain to any one that will listen that I have diabetes and that I am fine
2. I get to get a pull the "I have a low" card and eat a snack in the middle of the work day.
3. I get to explain what my pump is to any one that asks "what is that?"
4. I get to carry a GIANT purse every where I go.
5. I get to be on first name bases with all of the pharmacy workers.

I love diabetes because I have to live with it the rest of my life!!!

This is so wonderful, to see so many positive attitudes and outlooks about Diabetes... :) Life is hard enough as it is... so why not learn to love ourselves, the broken parts included? There's so much that life changes us into, when we are faced with new things, or bad things... Change is something to celebrate, when it's for the positive... And I know so many of you have put so much positive change in your lives, that perhaps, you might have taken for granted had you not gotten the big D. I am thankful for every one of you. :)
I agree with you Lizmari! You're a positive influence!
you are a sweetie liz...keep it up girl, you are a positive on this site.
1. It's a great excuse to get out of things
2. I have better control over my cravings for foods like pizza and Chinese
3. More breaks at work
4. When I do decide to have an "off-limits" food, it is much more enjoyable
5. Getting to tell off people who think they know everything
6. If you're bored, checking your sugar gives you something to do.
what?!?! #6 made me snort. haha.
I agreed Marps. I actually snorted when I read #6.
What I love about my diabetes?

1. Right now, I am the only one in the family with it, I feel so special

2. I, too, appreciate the snack I get to have when I have a low count.

3. I could have been a doc with all the research and knowledge I have gained.

4. I have met so many wonderful people through diabetes sites and clinics

5. I get really cool mail, wonderful new meters and most of it is free.
It makes me more compassionate towards others regarding their problems, whether it's diabetes or something else. Yeah, I would say compassion is my positive take on this disease of mine.
I love that it makes me pay better attention to what I eat, and I love that it gives me something to talk about with strangers, when I'm normally very shy :)
I wish I had all your enthusiasm. Can you rub off on me? I love a giant purse though. lol J

329,040 minutes, 329,040 moments so dear. 329,040 minutes — How do you measure, measure volunteers? In smileys, in tears shed, in counsel, in cups of coffee. In units, in carb counts, in laughter, in strife. In 329,040 minutes – how …
