Just curious of the people on this site, what percentage of your life have you lived with diabetes?
I've lived with diabetes for 70% of my life. I'm 31 and was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 9.

They suspect I had had it for a longer but indeterminate time beforehand.
Still learning. As I told the diabetes experts during my visit in November, "I have become my favourite science experiment". Lemonade from lemons.
Good attitude, nwt...and nice to find someone in my percentage group!

Permalink Reply by acidrock23 on January 28, 2013 at 9:20pm 66%, dx@ 16, now 45. Did I do the math right? I did Jen's the same way and got her number. It seems like a long time though. I was thinking 1/2 and was like "oh, wait..."
50 % as type 2. Now 65; diagnosed in the 80's.
I believe here was some earlier data in 70's indicating pre-diabetes but diagnostic tools un clear then.
