What percent?

Just curious of the people on this site, what percentage of your life have you lived with diabetes?

I've lived with diabetes for 70% of my life. I'm 31 and was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 9.

43% Diagnosed at the age of 23. 30 years with Type 1.

Diagnosed T1 at the age of 9, that was 23 years ago. So 72%.

60% for me. Diagnosed at Age 24 and I'm now 60.

74% for me. Diagnosed at 18 about to be 70.

I always remember my 36th birthday seemed important as it marked the 50% mark, from then on I was diabetic longer than non-diabetic

Well, since I assume that mine is inherited, like most Type 2, 100%

Presumably you weren't diabetic at birth, though, or you'd probably be dead! I think the genes are inherited, but the actual development of diabetes (either type) doesn't necessarily happen right away.
