My Husband and I were talking about diabetes while driving the other day and he asked me "what would you do if you didn't have diabetes anymore?" I was baffled, not able to come up with an answer, so I am asking you? What would you do if diabetes was cured and no longer an issue??

Honestly, I'd be LOST!

My husband and I have talked about this before, and as odd as it might sound, it would feel WEIRD not to have to worry!

I'm pretty sure I'd get over that though!

Sadly, and I'm not normally a pessimist, but I wonder if this day will come in my lifetime. If you think about all the money that is made via insulin, pumps and all their supplies, syringes, specialists along with all their support staff... *sigh*

Oh how I want to be wrong!!!!

my husband is a marathon runner. he is 60yrs old and runs 6 days a week. b/c of his long long runs (incredable excersize) he must eat tons of carbs and sugars. he induldges in the most wonderous eating frenzies, while i stand on the sideline and depreficly observe his consumption. UGH. i have never really been a sweet tooth type, but i think i would have a hot fudge banana split Sunday....1st, then i would buy some delicious bread and layer butter on top of several slices, and MANGE until full. i would eat pizza like there were no 2morrow....and more food. U get the idea!!!LOL

i would probably travel more w/out the worry of 2 many lows and 2 many highs, and running out of my MMpump supplies and insulin. i would, needless 2 say, be a very hapy camper. unfortunately, i have had D for 25yrs.(a lot has changed since my youth), and i do suffer from D complications. perhaps these could b fixed or restored??? I dream of that kind of freedom. also, i would probably get my libido bk, so i would have all of the sex that i have missed out on.LOL. and mayB my depression would lift and i would no longer have 2 tk psych meds. WOW. let me know some of Ur ideas. sooooo curious about what anyone else would do. thx 4 the post!!!!

its me again, Daisy Mae: PS: i would throw my pump into the ocean!!!!
