Whats the most annoying comment you've ever gotten about diabetes?

I've gotten quite a lot of really annoying and sometimes even hurtful comments about my diabetes...

When i told a family friend who (by the way) is an assistant nurse about my condition she said "really? but you will get better right? it will go away when you start taking care of yourself?"
and i said "no, i will always be a diabetic and i will actually get worse since my body will eventually stop producing insulin all together"
and she still kept insisting that I would get better in time and that my condition would go away...

i couldnt believe she knew so little

When people say " stop testing so much, you really dont need to" UGH!

the more the better when it comes to testing. you should do it more just to irritate them and then laugh at them for being callous and ignorant

Tell them what you are really testing is how much of a moron they are....

How about when people say "Wow. You must have it real bad. You test a lot. Have you seen a doctor?".

Answer in my head: "Well no. I self diagnosed and I rather enjoy pricking my fingers and poking holes in my body 5 times a day".

When i was first diagnosed my grandma insisted that if i drank plenty of fruit juice and exercised more that i would be fine. but i think the most hurtful was recently i asked a friend which shirt she liked best off of cafe press to bring awarness to diabetes and she told me that there is no need to advertise my condition. i felt like i had just been slaped. My "condition" is my life. i think everyone should know i have nothing to be ashamed of.
