Talk about studly!
Permalink Reply by Daisy Mae on January 10, 2013 at 6:24am the most common question i get asked when i am getting ready to prick my finger is "does that hurt?" what kind of moraonic question is that? Permalink Reply by Linda G on January 10, 2013 at 3:12pm Another question asked is related to the frequency of testing, as in "Why do you have to test that many times, when so-and-so only test 2 times a day", or whatever.
Permalink Reply by DiabeticRadio.com on January 10, 2013 at 3:20pm Years ago, I had a doctor tell me I only needed to test once a day. I actually had to fight and argue for more strips. The life of a diabetic huh?

Permalink Reply by Linda G on January 10, 2013 at 3:47pm As with any other demanding chronic condition....it's 24/7, but at times feels like 34/7!!! Diabetes is no cake walk!!

Permalink Reply by DiabeticRadio.com on January 10, 2013 at 6:50pm Grrrr.. I've always said to myself, if people would just pay more attention to their OWN badass kids, and their OWN broken marriages, and their OWN lack of judgment in THEIR lives, instead of the relentless badgering of our diabetes, weight, and outright meddling in our business, this would be such a better country. :-(

Permalink Reply by Linda G on January 11, 2013 at 12:38pm Exactly Judith....the same came be applied many other conditions....balanced, well treated...respected, but nevertheless still there.
You illustrate my point to a tee!! You don't want a cure do you. That is why you persist in this belief!! So maybe it never goes away, but if you live without taking any medication or insulin, then it is close enough to a cure for me. You can still say you have it, but you control it with diet and exercise. Again that means taking control of your own life!! Odd how you all seem to agree it is a metabolic issue but don't agree that your metabolism works better when not overweight. Can't have it both ways!!
If you guys want to keep patting each other on the back and supporting being overweight, then I am happy for you! Keep killing yourselfs slowly and whine about how sick you are and can nothing about it!!
I however, BELIEVE there is a cure, and that for Type 1!! We just haven't found it yet! I and will continue to believe that because I also believe that is how this existence works. I will create my world and that world has hope for a better life! Not the kind where I wallow in my own self pity and claim the victim status like you all are so invested in!! Truly sad!!
