Whats the most annoying comment you've ever gotten about diabetes?

I've gotten quite a lot of really annoying and sometimes even hurtful comments about my diabetes...

When i told a family friend who (by the way) is an assistant nurse about my condition she said "really? but you will get better right? it will go away when you start taking care of yourself?"
and i said "no, i will always be a diabetic and i will actually get worse since my body will eventually stop producing insulin all together"
and she still kept insisting that I would get better in time and that my condition would go away...

i couldnt believe she knew so little

Absolutely! I try not to have anything touching anything in there!
there is a dire need to raise awareness
Let's have a test-in. Same day, same time, in public places. If a million people living with diabetes run blood sugar tests at the very same time ....
Kelly---that's a brilliant idea! All of us testing AND T1s injecting, too, might be even better. Let's think about how to carry that forward!!! Mmmm and maybe our Proud Pumpers could somehow have it on display instead of under a clothing layer.....
It is indeed a brilliant idea.

Perhaps this is something we can do for the second anniversary of TuDiabetes!
I proudly wear my pump on my belt, which often provides an opportunity for sharing a little information about diabetes when I am inevitably asked "Is that a beeper?". I test myself wherever I am whenever I need to; while I don't make a point of waving my bloody finger around, I do not go to great lengths to conceal what I am doing. I was the same way when I used shots/pen, I was discreet but did what I needed to do. Sometimes people stared, but I was doing what I need to do to live! More than anything, I don't mind getting looked at when I test/inject/pump because of the chances it occasionally provides to share some information to people who are interested.
True here too, though I don't pump....I welcome a well intentioned question....it's an oppportunity to bring awareness.
I am in !!!!!!
let me in when when when?
Using the bathroom sounds like a good idea if you want to find a more germ-laden place to do it
I refuse to give myself a shot in the bathroom. Think about it when you go in for a flu shot, do you go run in the bathroom. The #1 most unsanitary room in a home !
I'm a sophmore in high school nd when I went to take a shot in class.. The teacher told me to go to the restroom!!! She thought I was a "distraction" I told my mom when I got home so she called the school. Needless to say I think the teacher got "talked to" and never tried to send me to the restroom again.
