Whats the most annoying comment you've ever gotten about diabetes?

I've gotten quite a lot of really annoying and sometimes even hurtful comments about my diabetes...

When i told a family friend who (by the way) is an assistant nurse about my condition she said "really? but you will get better right? it will go away when you start taking care of yourself?"
and i said "no, i will always be a diabetic and i will actually get worse since my body will eventually stop producing insulin all together"
and she still kept insisting that I would get better in time and that my condition would go away...

i couldnt believe she knew so little

Maddy, my junior year of high school, someone in my Spanish class made an anonymous complaint and the school tried to force me to walk 1/4 of a mile to the nurse's office everyday to check my BG and take my pre-lunch bolus. I refused and didn't care who it bothered. Sorry, whomever you were, I kind of needed that shot to live.
Hmm, i've never had much of a problem with checking my BG in class. Someone ALWAYS complains when the pump beeps at me, but you know what? I don't care. They can deal with my occasional beep when i have to suspend my pump/cancel a bolus.
good for you
if i even brang my gm into my locker i could get suspended
Oh Grrrrrr....Reading all this makes me SO DAMN ANGRY!
You're not alone with that.
I can't think of a more unsanitary place.
I test in public. I inject in public. If anything is said to me, I tell them I have a disease and if they seem genuinely interested, then I tell them about type 1. I will stop in the middle of a crowded mall hallway, pull slightly to the side to avoid being bumped into, my husband will hold my meter in his open palms, and I'll test and inject right in the mall hallway.
In Canada, someone had that happen in a restaurant and they were awarded $2500 for loss of dignity in the Human Rights Tribunal..... they are not allowed to object.
The next time ask this guy, " What would you rather have, a dead body because you denied me a life-saving medication, or me giving myself insulin so I can live? "
That's what I would do, too. I do my shots in public and just think if they don't want to look, they don't need to look. This is something I need to do.
i go into panera a ton with my mom panera is always a busy place i always feel so rushed and i get so sick of being "an inconveiyance" not like with my family but with people around me also people look at me will i put the pen needle on my pen and stare and make that weird face like theyre gonna puke either suck it up, shove it , or look away
Did you pay the blll...Greg? I dont think I would have....the nerve of that guy! "dont do that in this restaruant"......OK< would it be ok if I just keel over and died in your restaurarnt?
