I recently started pumping and got a CGM system too, but when I went to order the sof-sensors for my Medtronic CGM the medical supply company (Edgepark) told me that the sensors are going to be $70.00 a box!! That is on top of all the other supplies I have to buy. Does anyone know how you can get them cheaper or what you have to do to get your insurance company to cover them at a higher rate? I don't know how people afford to buy them.

Abbott is almost out of market for their choice.

Permalink Reply by JohnG on August 20, 2012 at 3:55am That's not a bad price $7.00 each and if you get 6 days out of the sensor that's $1.16 a day. The sensor market is small and the manufacturer is loseing money every time they sell one but someday there will be enough users and the sensor market will stop running in the red. I would not hold my breath for cheaper prices, it's a medical product.
