Permalink Reply by Pastelpainter on May 5, 2012 at 12:12am I do a tai chi form for diabetes. It won't cure, but it is said to help people with diabetes lower their blood glucose. I suspect these yoga moves could also do this rather than cure you.
I think we all know it wouldn't be this easy, no magic bullet, but maybe part of a therapy that would work is all I am suggesting....
Permalink Reply by Gary on May 5, 2012 at 7:11am Part of the problem is we live in a world where money is top priority even at the price of human suffering. We diabetics are in a very unique situation with the kind of illness we have mainly because we can live a very long time with it and over a lifetime its very profitable for all parties involved. Second most of the research companies have to realize that it won't be easy to get to commercialization and even if they do, if Insurance won't cover it they won't have many customers. This is just my opinion not fact. Do I think an advanced treatment is feasible based on where we stand at the moment? Absolutely but there are so many roadblocks besides the science itself IMO,
I am advocating that the answer may be easier than we realize. That something in nature, or some sort of ayuverdic-type of method could do the trick. The point is NO ONE knows what it would take. How about taking responsibility for our own health, and the state it is in. I am no longer waiting on "others" to help me. I am actively seeking my own answers!
I have sat around long enough waiting for someone else to do this, why wait any longer, why not see what I can do for myself!!

I wonder about stimulating the pancreas physically, such as with yoga, in an effort to "jump start" my pancreas. I know that when you hurt a finger that if you rub it, stimulate more blood flow to it, the pain goes away much faster. Meaning it heals quicker. Why not the same theory with the pancreas???

I am truly interested in what you are doing!! How can I learn more about your practice? So far, you are the first person I have met who claims to have been on insulin but then were able to get off insulin, or at least not take it (a year a long time to go without!).
