Similar to the "You know you're a diabetic when...." this is "You know you have low blood sugar when...."

Today, mine was, "You know you have low blood sugar when you're in the supermarket, and you wander past the eggs half a dozen times while wondering, 'Where the @#$% are the eggs?'"

(For any of you who might do that when your blood sugar is perfectly normal, I was also feeling lightheaded and was perspiring heavily at the time!)

You know you have a low BG when you know you should stay sitting where you are and have your wife get you sugar fast! But instead you go running around the house to get it yourself! (Dan I know you will read this, you are so guilty.)

you know your low when.... you argue with people trying to help you get your blood sugar up, by telling them that you dont want what they are giving you....its so easy to avoid the easy way to a better blood sugar but that low you dont really care... i like everyone else's DUMB replies makes me laugh.

At least we can all laugh about this now!

These are all hilarious. And in the "been there, done that" category. Here are some of mine:

When sweat is pouring off you like Niagara Falls, and you are outside in December.

When you have total tunnel vision and are just working on auto-pilot.

When you see the code number on your glucometer and are not sure whether it is your BG.

When you have to test 6 times to get a reading, because you keep applying the blood sample too quickly.

When you know you are low, decide not to test, because you know it, and decide to take a walk around the neighborhood to find some candy, rather than eat the glucose tablets on your desk.

When you are talking and making no sense (that happens to me whether I am low or not).

When the pictures on the wall seem like they are moving.

When you see the room as though looking through a fish eye lens.

When you wake up in the middle of the night from a really weird dream and are not sure whether you have awakened or it is still the dream.

When you think that the channel number on the cable box is actually your BG.

And so on, and so on and so on.....

you think nothing of ripping that pack of skittles out of a child's hand and pour them all into your mouth at once.
