Similar to the "You know you're a diabetic when...." this is "You know you have low blood sugar when...."

Today, mine was, "You know you have low blood sugar when you're in the supermarket, and you wander past the eggs half a dozen times while wondering, 'Where the @#$% are the eggs?'"

(For any of you who might do that when your blood sugar is perfectly normal, I was also feeling lightheaded and was perspiring heavily at the time!)

When you go upstairs to find something sugary and eat 6 pieces of rocky road slice your Mum's just baked then go hyper.

When you're driving to work and all of a sudden realise your vision isn't really working and it's not that safe.

When you're halfway through a conversation with a client and you stop in the middle of your sentence and can not only not remember what you were saying but also what you're doing there.

When you think you must be coming down with the flu because you feel really off colour then remember you're diabetic.

When you feel like curling up and going to sleep in the International aisle of the supermarket.

When you get caught on holiday in the middle of the night rustling up the chocolate your friend bought from the market that day.

admit to her you ate it later in the morning...then have her tell you there were no muffins in the house....and still have no idea what you ate to this day:(

I know my son is low when he's crying and won't eat his oatmeal because I only made one packet in the bowl instead of two together, and he still won't eat it even though I tell him I will make him a second packet as soon as he finishes the first one!
