Which reminds me ... a diabetes educator recently told me that they've stopped using oranges to let people practice giving insulin shots because some people think you're supposed to EAT THE ORANGE! Instead, this educator suggests you shoot into a wadded up washcloth. But what if a new diabetic uses that to WASH HER FACE?!!!

Hmmmm, Kelly....wonder if insulin has beautifying qualities.....might start a new trend!

But there's the unfortunate aroma ... see Dino and MelissaBL's exchange on the odor of insulin.

Morning Kelly.....A Band-Aid aroma eh?....ahhhhh brings back homey memories of scraped knees, mercurochrome and...mom. I can deal with that :)

A Preacher knows he's diabetic when he's concerned he will go hypo before he can finish his sermon--and does.
I've actually had my hands begin shaking just about the time I finish my sermon. That's my cue that the sermon is over. Luv ya every body, but I gotta go get some sugar now.

I did that on a frequent basis until I started on the pump. I had to keep juice on the side of the pulpit to keep from becoming incoherent.

Hey Bobby....think anyone would step in to finish your sermon/service for you?.....what are the odds, right?

When your office gets you a chocolate cake for your birthday and you test to see how much of a bolus it will take to be "polite" and take a small piece (not nice to hurt the boss' feelings, right?)
