Bill- What kinds of days would we be meeting? I have a lot of commitments on the weekends during the day... well I also work during the daytime during the week. I guess it would have to be planned way ahead. I'd love to get involved, but I'd have to see on a month to month basis, whether or not I could attend. My band practice is every other Saturday.

*sigh* busy busy. :)

OK I have some great news. I am heading the way with the Director of the North Central CT/Western MA Chapter Lisa Ratcliff to create a Young Leadership Committee for young adults with type 1. I am actually meeting with her today!

Our plans are to have monthly meetings starting in JUNE. One month will be at the JDRF office in Farmington CT, and the next Month will be Social meet up. And swich like that every other month.


Several other JDRF chapters have this Young Leadership Committee and this will be new to the CT/MA area.

Since this is a new venture I am asking if you are interested in getting involved to message me. We need to plan meeting ideas and recruit for the Committee. The more help the better.

I know I said John Harvards before, and I still like John Harvards but we asked the Wood N Tap, Agave, and TD Homers to sponser our meetings. Hopefully they will say yes. If not, the next place I am asking is John Harvards!

If you have any questions please let me know. Let's do it. I think it's the right time!

Bill (1Happy)- John Harvards is pretty good. I used to do my work happy hours there. Decent food, nice environment.

I am working with my Local JDRF chapter to start a Young Adults Leadership group here locally in CT and MASS. Trying to start from scratch and build up meetings aross the states to meet Monthy or so. I will let you guys know when we get the ball rolling.

Possible meeting place would be John Harvard's in Manchester CT.

Well - lots 'o suggestions! I'll summarize:
Bowling (x2)
Mohegan Sun (1)
Springfield restaurant, bar , pool and/ or picnic (x4)
Magic Wings (x2)

Location-wise, I'm partial to Springfield or Northampton, but that's me...

Anyone want to weigh in on the place again? I'll propose the weekend of the 27/28...

I like bowling and the Butterfly place "Magic Wings" is a lot of fun.I'll travel too.Just tell me when and where :).Whats the dinosaur park? Sounds neat! There is also forest park zoo in springfeild Ma when the weather gets nicer for a picnic and such :)

I've been non-existent on this group again and I'm wicked sorry. What about meeting someplace like Mohegan Sun, the casino in southern CT? Any place like that in Mass? I'm willing to travel. I would even be up for a beach session when the weather warms up?

There's a dinosaur park in Eastern CT. Or some place like Yankee Candle or Magic Wings Butterfly Museum in southern MA?

I would suggest Boston, but the parking is terrible up there!

How about bowling. Anyone like bowling?

How about next weekend (Jan 8,9,10)? I don't know a lot about Springfield bars- I mostly just go there to eat at Pho Saigon! Anyone care to suggest?
