I have Mutual of Omaha and it did, but Liberty has not sent my strips and I've called them twice. Mutual is not selling Plan N to any new people, they told me and said they wouldn't mind if I changed insurance companies. ??? Their premiums went from about $129 per mo. to $206 in less than a year. Troubling. We are told we cannot be dropped because of pre-existing conditions, but can we be dropped for any other reason? They swore it was not personal. hmm.
BCBS covers mine.
In short, yes. Will try not to be confusing here.....When my secondary insurance was my primary insurance they were covered with a $9 copay for a 90 day supply. Since I opted to buy my current employers health insurance, the former became secondary and the new primary doesn't cover them but I get a discounted rate of $38 for 4 boxes (of 102)....(this takes into account the secondary insurance but I can't get the mail order co-pays for this anymore). Definitely not complaining though, the alternative is dealing with the individual ones and I can't stand that so more than worth the $38.
My supplemental health insurance just went up another $50/mo. I am now paying a little over $400/mo for all health insurance combined (including $100+ for Medicare)and have been threatened that I am close to being in the GAP, which means I will start paying full price for all medications including insulin. Medicare taking over diabetic supplies has caused a lot of confusion. I ended up having to pay $85 for 50 test strips from Walgreen's. Big mistake. I could have paid $65 at Walmart. I didn't realize I needed to get a prescription from my doctor. duh. I had started using my gerintologist for diabetes treatment instead of my endo and he didn't know he had to prescribe the bottle of "control" so I could check my meter.
Good luck!! This has become a royal mess. I had to return strips to a company even though I had cancelled my order in plenty of time. Another company sent strips to my pharmady after a salesman told me Medicare would not pay for them and as a result I had gone back to my original brand, had asked my doctor to send in a prescription to CVS and had bought them there. ONly one little problem. They packed the order two containers in each box with only one key. I lost one of the keys. I couldn't find the second container and opened another. Thought I put the key in the old box, but I did not.
