I seldom comment, I am busy trying to publicize my memoir and do not wish to seem to be using tudiabetes as a forum for this memoir. Now on to my purpose, i want to add my A1C to the map but I have trouble trying to track down how to do so. I do have trouble with my eyes, cataracts, and hypoglycemia adds to the blur. My A1C is always below 6.5 but I have never gone below 6.0 in the ten years I have suffered the disease. I am now 90 and wonder how much longer I can go on.

I love my Aviva. I have the sound off so when I am out, no one hears me.
I don't know why we get embarrassed to check our sugar in public. Folks open pill bottles and boxes and pop pills in public.
I am discreet when injecting insulin at the table in a restaurant. I just barely lift the edge of my shirt and go for it. My hubby is the one to get embarrassed. Hey, I am taking care of myself, so what's their problem? ..just look the other way.people: that's my opinion and I am unanimous in that.

Aaron. I actually had a woman come up to me.. whilst i was in a restraunt.. and say.. Do you have to do that here, you can use the bathroom. and my reply was.. Would you want to inject yourself/test in a dirty bathroom.. She harumphed and walked away. and i was trying to be nonchalant about it

I have stopped worrying about other peoples attitudes or opinions while tending to necessary BG testing and injections. Most times other people are so involved with their own worlds they are oblivious to my world. I think WE (diabetics) are too sensitive and embarrased about our condition that we imagine everyone is focused on us. I don't care that my AccuCheck meter makes a little noise. I certainly don't use it during a concert or theater perfomance where it would disturb the audience, but otherwise I use my meter in public just as others use their cell phones. If a curious person asks (which has never occured), I would tell them I'm diabetic and I'm testing my blood sugar. I dislike public rest rooms for testing and injections. They are not sanitary and more often than not do not have clean surfaces to hold my equipment and supplies.

Still think a updated motor drive and put on a silo to hold the multiclix and its pretty close to a grab and go solution.. Though im kind of yearning for a Accu Chek Mobile in the US.. don't know what it has for meal and event tagging but looks like it could be a good contender for a grab and go pump user...

I kind of understand Wendy's problem... Uhm I vaguely remember a posting regarding a woman using it in the loo raising a few eyebrows, Im wondering if they could implement something akin to a pump motor to spin the barrel and eject the strip relatively quiet.. I could see how it could scare someone, or it be misconstrued as uhm. another adult device...
