My nephew Bernard lives in Kenya and lucks access to strips / meters. In Kenya diabetes education is not readily available to all. Juvenille diabetes is a pendemic just like malaria. The diets for these kids is whatever food is available for them (something to eat for dinner) poverty really complicates the chances of surviving diabetes. Does anyone know if there is children charities or programs for children with diabetes in Africa?

I just wanted to ask for those diabetics in west Africa how does malaria which is so rampant especially in Nigeria and is killing so many people everyday affect your sugar control and if applicable your blood sugars.

Hi.
My name is Elsa and my oldest son has type 1 diabetes. He is 3 and a half years old. I live in South Africa, Pretoria. I'm glad I've found this site where we can share experiences.
