Hi there -

I don't know about all the other stuff, but I can certainly recommend spibelt for the actual pump - they have kid sizes, too - http://www.spibelt.com/diabetic.php. I love my spibelt - http://store.spibelt.com/product-p/7bl-a001-001-diabetic.htm. I have several. Even if you get the non-diabetic ones, you can just poke a hole in it.

For insulin vials or pens, I would highly recommend the frio wallets - http://www.frious.com/buy/

I agree about the spibelt. My son usually uses his pocket but if he doesn't have one, spibelt is great.

Hi Aaron,

Are you look for this for a long trip, or day-to-day? If it's a day-to-day thing, try looking at a small camera case - that's what I carry my Ping in. They usually are very simple (all in one), or have multiple small pockets that are great for carrying different supplies (for longer trips). I take it since you're carrying pens and syringers you're looking at taking it on a longer trip?

Hi Anne,
What we need is for everyday but since she's shuttled between home, grandma's, preschool, and dance/sports she really needs a lot of stuff with her incase her set comes out.
A camera case will be good for trips around the neighborhood though.

We use a plain old fanny pack for ALL of the stuff. It carries glucagon kit, meter, ketone meter, inset, cartridge and a vial of insulin.
In my car (and in grandma's car) there's a ziplock bag with an extra inset & cartridge. School keeps extras in the office. He does not carry this bag around on short trips because he's either close to home or a car which has what he needs. I just grab the fanny pack and throw it in my purse or his backpack or whatever we're bringing along when we're going out somewhere.

Im on the ping too. I just use a medium sized purse to carry around all my diabetes stuff plus my dads digital camera :) Ive been doing that since i was around 12. Before that, I had a small backpack Id carry with me.

I'm with Bailey. We own a Skiddadle Bag, which is the most organized thing you ever saw and really cute. In fact there are photos of it if you go to my page. Be warned, however, that these are far from inexpensive. Ours was a gift from a generous relative, but I would definitely buy another one.

Hello everyone, I got my animas ping pump and meter about 2 months ago. I must admit that outside of not liking to be connected and relying on a machine to duplicate what my pancreas no longer does, I was elated to not be taking needles three and four times a day any more. But I have a question that has been on my mind for sometime now so please entertain it for a moment. I have a set basal rate that has been working fine and I make sure that I bolus for any meal consumptions that are required. Why is it that if your basal and bolus rates of insulin are right and set accordingly why most one continue to check their glucose four and five times a day. I can see having to do it with the needles, but if this procedure is suppose to be better, why is it that we still most check our sugars so many times. Someone at work asked me that and I was scratching my head. Food for thought....
