Boy am I overwhelmed. I spoke to the Animas rep I'll be seeing on Tuesday. She told me I should look at the Animas infusion sets and decide which to order. She said that the cleo doesn't stick as well as her son used it and switched and was much happier. She also said that the insets are spring loaded so it will be easier for insertion. I've been use to doing the dexcom but will enjoy a spring action going on.

My rep at Neighborhood diabetes told me I should try them then decide. But at my appt, I have to bring 2 infusion sets. So I am torn in what I should do. Should I wait till Tuesday then decide and order that night or should I just decide? I know I need to order the reservoir but the infusion sets are the confusing part.

hhe the kermit pack is the supplies for my ping. My ping is named Kermit so Jay named the ping supply bag Kermit pack.

I did go through the links you gave me. It wasn't helpful to me :(...I did see the one that Marti posted and that was indeed helpful. But that is the inset infusion set. And its the person who I commented on her ping being polka dotted too! Her video was very thorough!
i'm afraid i didn't find any good videos for the inset 30. sorry
Its ok Marti...the Inset one was VERY helpful. Plus the person who did that video was the person on here that I commented on her ping being polka dotted! I wished I could remember her user name on here so I can thank her for wonderful videos.
hairdryer for the cleos? ooh, wish i had one. the 10 second thing really seems to help, i do that too. and i use skin tac and make sure it's totally dry first. but i can't get medical tape, bandaids or IV3000 to stick well either, so it's not just the cleos for me.
Amy - one thing that my rep - and the diabetes educator in my doc's office - did not explain to me is the fact that there are many options for your meter - I was pretty much just pointed in the direction of the Animas products. When I developed a kind of irritation or allergy to the teflon cannula (lots of itching), I finally discovered the truth! So, I got on the Internet and ordered free samples of many different types.

I use a steel cannula (so much nicer, for me anyway) and I settled on the Orbit Micro although I have others in stock. Look around and you'll find what you like - or you may like several others.

Animas will try to set you up on autoship, but only for the stuff they carry. It depends on your insurance, but I was able to get with Liberty Medical and order what I wanted - I've even mixed and matched sets, especially when I wanted to try sets but couldn't get free examples.
Hi cheri

I want to try the orbit sets but my supplier doesn't carry it and their websites says no samples available at this time...I have the inset and inset 3p..and cleo 90...I'm not sure what others to try out...I'm hoping my cde may have stuff in their office available in their supply room....I know they give me test strips, etc.....so I hope for that....
Call orbit and they will send you out samples. You will have to keep calling them because they are not very good about calling you back. I called them it took me about a week to get a hold of someone that handled the samples.
The problem is I do not hear well on the phone so for me, using the phone is useless.
email?

ooo thanks! I'll email them right now and see what I can find out.
ask the CDE if there is a local rep for the orbits... a sales rep often will be able to get you stuff because they are trying to drive the sales.
when i wanted a cable for my one touch meter i couldn't afford it so my doctor called the rep and said if they didn't give me one then he'd put me on a different meter. they brought one for me and one for the office to use to download my meter at visits. [and to make it easier for my doc to prescribe it to other patients]
I just emailed my CDE about it. Perhaps she can help me get one for Tuesday so I am able to try it. And if so, I can see if I like it or not.
