Permalink Reply by Barbara on June 21, 2012 at 7:35am That's great! I also named my pump in the same line of thought. I named my pink Ping, "Hope." It's self-explanatory, I'm sure. I pray that this is the beginning of good things. I start my pump training in two hours and I am nervous. Because I tried the pump in the past and did not do very well, the memories are causing me some anxiety. This is a new day and a new pump and I am working on a positive attitude and an easier start then previously. Thanks for your positive words!
I've thought about naming my pump, but nothing has quite seemed to fit, at least not yet.
Permalink Reply by Nel on August 2, 2012 at 8:22am My gorgeous blue ping is called the TARDIS. My family and I kept describing its color as TARDIS blue, so naming it the TARDIS just seemed to fit. I've also named my meter collection (I have four meters already and I've only been dealing with this since January!). My first meter (freestyle lite) was named Fortuna, after the goddess of Fortune. My Accu-Chek meter (the one I'm currently using) is called Gandalf Lathspell. Lathspell means "ill news" (it's the opposite of gospel); I call it Gandalf when I'm happy with it and Lathspell when I'm not. I'm switching to OneTouch as soon as I run out of Accu-Chek strips so I can use the meter remote that came with my pump. I named my meter remote Idris (a minor character in a Doctor Who episode) and named my back up blue OneTouch Ultra Mini Wyrd, the name for fate in Germanic myths. I don't believe in fate, but I thought names associated with fate were appropriately fickle for a glucose meter.
Permalink Reply by Maycri on August 4, 2012 at 7:05pm So, I've been on it a month and as i suspected a silly name stuck... every time my hubby is close by and my basal goes off he says "bless you!", so we started calling it "sneezy"
Permalink Reply by palomino on August 23, 2012 at 7:52pm AAAAH! This is fantastic! I named mine Louise. And if I ever get a CGM, she shall be Thelma. Maybe someone already came upw ith this though...
