Hello!
I've been using the Animas Ping for awhile, and I recently tried the inset Infusion system insertion device. It's a straight set (I currently use the angled ones), and I really liked it, but I'm wondering what people do when they detach their pump, because I didn't see any type of cap to cover the site/tube with. I normally use the cap all the time when I disconnect to shower, etc. This was just a sample I received from the company, so I'm wondering if it will come with something if I actually placed an order. Does anyone here use these?

Thanks for your help!

i don't use those but i use the cleo90 and it doesn't have a cap for when you detach it temporarily. i suspect it's different for each type of set. when i first got the animas 2020 there were a few samples of infusion sets for me to try and none of them had caps.
Each box of 10 insets comes with 2 caps that can be used and reused. That said, I never cap my site unless I'm immersing myself in something gross like lake water. The site has a self-sealing septa so nothing gets in there without a needle.
If you order a box of insets, it comes with 3 caps. I've never used them, wish there was an option to opt out of using them, less waste and all that.
There is the needle part and the receiver part. Are you concerned about the needle attached to the pump or the port left on you? If it is the needle still attached to the pump, I open a sterile 2x2 gauze pad and put the needle in the 2x2. For the port, I use the included caps (2 in each box of 10).

This works great for me and I have been Pinging for almost 2 years.

I'm more concerned about the needle part. Thanks for your input!
I have the ping too. I use the Cleo90 sites, which DO NOT come with any type of cap. That said, Ive been swimming in pools with chlorine, in lakes, and taken showers with it uncovered and never had any problems.
