Apparently though, this is just Animas.
MM said they are not doing this. And my initial order supposedly went to Edgepark and then oh, no it didnt and then oh yes it did (I dont even use Edgepark).

Well I talked to our endo's office yesterday and they called the Animas rep who meet me at the local library with samples to hold me over, she said that they have new rules for scripts and that they are back logged. Said I was the 3rd person she had talked to today. Got an email from Animas last night that said our supplies had been shipped and would be received Thursday. (UPS's website confirmed)
I have had really great customer service from them in the past but the run around was more stress than I can handle.
They came through in the end but you should not mess with people's health!

Although, we had received samples of Orbit 90 but I was nervous about trying them. I think I am in love. My son liked them allot. We will see how it goes over time but I am impressed so far. Maybe it is a good thing. If I was not frustrated by Animas we would never have discovered Orbit.... :)

Laura and Kphil06 I am sorry you have had frustrations too!

wow... interesting to read all of these comments about people having trouble with Animas filling scripts for pump supplies. I'm having the same issue... ran out about 3 or 4 weeks ago and back on MDI.

My story: call Animas and order new infusion sets & cartridges. I want green this time. Very nice people & pleasant.

1 1/2 weeks go by... I call Animas to ask about when they will be shipped out. I am told they are ready to be sent out and that the operator at Animas would personally see to it that it got sent out the next morning and that I should get by Monday the latest.

It's now thursday: no supplies. I call back. The woman basically accuses me of lying that I spoke to someone earlier that they had been ready to ship and says they are waiting on my doctor.

Call my doctor: they say that they never received a fax but would call it in.

Week goes by: call Animas. no answer. Leave a message & no one calls me back.

Pretty different service from when I initially got the pump back in April!!
Right now: I am in limbo.... I miss my pump.

Any updates stjr?
Carecentrix called today. Big deal.
The lady said we just wanted to make sure you got your order. We cant guarantee that in the future your order will not be cut down to less......
She didnt care one bit about the employee who told me proper training meant we would never need spares...

stjrhein, I use an animas one touch ping, but I don't get my supplies from animas. I get them from Liberty Medical. I've not had any problems with supplies or customer service from them. I've also used Edgepark in the past, but I don't think they have their customer's best interest at heart. I've also used Byram Healthcare which is also a supplier and I loved their service. I use a steel infusion set so my prescription reads to change every 1-2 days. I usually make it to 2 days. Even though it's written this way, BC/BS will only allow 5 boxes every 90 days, which is fine because I don't have set problems with the steel sets. Good luck. Shop around to get your needs met.

I finally figured out how to put this in words: What they are doing is taking it upon themselves to interpret your doctor's orders down to the least amount. They wont necessarily give your doctor a chance to change paperwork unless you make an issue of it. In my case, it got changed. If you, meaning any of you, find your orders have been reduced then you are going to have to fight to get your papers changed.
They went against what my plan would cover, and went against his true authorization which was for five boxes, taking it down to three without really saying why.

stjrhein, I am so mad at them I wish I could purchase my next pump now. I would order a MM pronto. This is not going on over there according to people I have talked to. My HMO's caseworker said they cannot ignore your doctors orders, but he has to indicate that you need enough for every two day set changes. 2 days should get it for you. If they are not cooperating with him, have someone call them on the line they ought to have set up for doctors. Someone suggested you might call a supplier (like Edgepark, or Liberty or something) to get it done that way. I dont know. You could try your local Animas rep, but mine has been worthless. She wont even answer Email or get involved.
I am sorry, and I hope you find a way. I'll try to find more answers.....
