Hi Florian

To answer your questions:

1. I think 5 units, but I use very insulin, TDD of about 20 units.

2 Novolog

3. 4 days sometimes less if I'm having problems

4. Inset, Comfort Short or Inset30 depending where in my body I am going to stick it.

Hi Animas Pumpers, I use the Animas PING filled with Novolog, INSETS, and the remote for my blood sugar control. I haven't had any problems with what I've been doing but I have a few question for the Animas pumpers that I hope you will answer.
1. What is the largest Normal Bolus that you have given yourself?
2. What insulin do you use?
3. How many days do you use an Infusion Set?
4. What kind of infusion set do you use?
Thanks everyone

So I have a question for pump users! When you change your pump site with the inset 30 is it possible to hit something on the inside of your body like muscle or something? I think that's what I did it hurts really bad like you won't apply pressure when you touch n it will still hurts really bad. Anybody want to help me out?

Can't wait for the Vibe, the screen on the Ping remote can be difficult to read. I actually wore dresses on the cruise a few times, so the remote was even more useful than usual. Don't know if anyone would have enjoyed watching me pull my Ping out of my bra LOL

Hi jrtpup: I think you went on your Caribbean trip just after me! I was there Dec 3-10, on a Windstar cruise. Simply wonderful. I read the Ping manual and watched the video, and have been using it for awhile. It is great. The RF with the meter is a nice feature, but all in all it is not too different than the 2020. Me, I really want the Animas Vibe!

Melitta, I can't speak to the differences either, but I do love my Ping. Do you have any specific questions?

Just got back from the Caribbean today, I wonder if we could have met?

My 2020 died in Hawaii several years ago. Found out later that it wasn't the battery cap but the rubber pad that covers the up/down arrows and the OK button. The rubber cement around it wears out and leaks. Why salt water leaks more is a more puzzles me. Nevertheless, a new Ping was expressed to me pronto. I hope you enjoy you new Ping. I do not try to test the waterproofness too often!
All the luck with you new pump. All the best, JackSprat999

Hey, Melitta! Congrats on your new Ping! That's kind of a bummer that the seawater trashed your pumps! I didn't think I saw any differentiation between fresh water or salt. Did Animas have anything to say about that occurance?

I can't speak to the differences between the 2020 and the Ping, but I love my Ping.

Have a great holiday, my friend!

Hi: I just got my new Animas Ping today, upgrading from the 2020. My 2020 died on my recent trip to the Caribbean--despite the Animas claim that it is waterproof, I have now had two pumps fail on me due to seawater entering the battery compartment. Freshwater has never been a problem. On this most recent trip, I even changed the battery cap 1 week before the trip. Still failed. Despite that problem, overall I love my Animas!!!!

Anyhow, I am hoping that some of you can offer me tips on using the Ping, and any differences you see between the 2020 and the Ping. Thanks so much.
