Permalink Reply by Jay on June 20, 2012 at 1:49pm Diabetic Athlete's Handbook by Dr. Sheri Colberg has information for training/competing in basically any sport with diabetes.
Permalink Reply by jm on June 20, 2012 at 2:45pm The Diabetic Athlete is a good book,..and this would be my first read.. not sure if you are a pumper, but Pumping Insulin, by John Walsh is also a good book, well written book about diabetes, pumping and in general stuff about athletics, not sure which edition is out there now,...and if you are looking for inspiration about diabetic athletes, maybe try the new one from Phil Southerland, i have not read this book, but he is pretty amazing guy as far as what he has done
Permalink Reply by Sheila Fitz on June 20, 2012 at 10:43pm I got Sheri Colberg's book, but I was frustrated because she didn't address what to do if you are following a low carb diet like I do with Dr. Berstein. I am LADA and don't take insulin, yet. I exercise a lot, but even my Endo can't really tell me what to do. Do any of the other books named address any of the things that I have named?
