The Vegas Rock & Roll 1/2 marathon was SO much fun! Even with shin splints. :) Didn't break the 2hr mark because of the leg pain, but still got 2:04:36. AND we got to hear Bret Michaels after. (He's the tiny speck with the cowboy hat in the photo...of course.)

Thanks Florian.
Only people in the USA can take the survey?
Comment by Florian Menninger Jr on November 22, 2010 at 5:51pm
There are a number of people in this group who are familiar with the Diabetes Exercise and Sports Association (DESA). DESA is doing a survey according to Doug Dressman the Executive Director and asked if the members would distribute the survey to other people who are doing exercise and sports as part of their diabetes management program. Here is the email that I got.

From: Doug Dressman

The link below is for a market research survey regarding the services provided
by DESA and has been authorized by the DESA Board of Directors.

Please take a moment to complete the survey yourself. I would also like for you
to distribute it to your contacts and colleagues in the diabetes community.

The survey is also posted on the web site and will be distributed via various
means over the next 5-10 days.

Hey, my Tu Diabetes friends...my girlfriend has Type 1 diabetes, so I just started a campaign called 'Run To Stop Diabetes'. Visit www.RunToStopDiabetes.com for more info on the campaign & let me know what you think!! We're running the 2011 ING NYC Marathon to raise money & awareness for diabetes.

I'm hoping to be out in vegas for the1/2....... Just waiting to see if hubby can get the time off of work. I hear you about Bret Michaels. It'll be my first 1/2 also, I just want to still like running when I'm done. :)

Not keeling over is always a good goal! You'll do great. So, if you see someone wearing an "I Run on Insulin" shirt, it might be me.

Thanks, Christian! I'm looking forward to it. All of the others I've done have been in the Midwest, so it's nice to venture out. And, not that I'm a Poison fan, but having Bret Michaels as the headliner is really cool. Good luck with the CIM! I'm in awe of anyone who can do a full marathon.

I almost signed up for the Vegas Marathon, but chose to register for CIM in Sacramento that same day. I'll be hosting a casual run through Triabetes/ Insulindependence on November 27th in Los Angeles. I'll post when the details are set. Good luck!

I am! I am! I am! It's my first. (the Las Vegas half) My goal is to... finish without keeling over. LOL.
