After years of igoring my diabetes,a foot ulcer jolted me back to reality. This happened in April and my A1c was 11! Now my foot is healed and my latest A1c is 6.3!! I'm on Lantus and Novolog,it's the best thing I've ever done for my dibetes, aside from joining this community!!

Wow Melody, congratulations!!!!! That must be an amazing feeling and I am sure took a lot of work! Good job, you should be so proud of yourself!!!
I just had my A1c checked and it was 6.5! Lovin' it!
Congrats melody and glad to find this group. I had mine checked Monday and the results were called in today, 6.3% also...it must be a popular number this quarter. I'm an Omnipoder.
I just started using Lantus also after I had hypoglycemia in my sleep and they had to bring me back from death...I stopped breathing and sustained brain damage from being out so long...only wish I'd known about the Lantus sooner...it is certainly superior to using 70/30, by far...

Forgot to mention...I also had terrible problems with ulcers. I had to give up a supervisory position at a job I'd been at for 15 years because of it...I had to stand up to 12 hours a day 6 days a week. My doc kept telling me to get off them, but I couldn't do it. Then one day the flesh at the bottom of my foot began to smell like dead tissue...that was the final straw for me.
