I'm on my second month of Byetta and have had nausea from the beginning. It's mostly manageable and passing, and I go with the flow of it because it does curb how much I eat. About ten minutes into my meal is when I seem to feel it most and can't eat any more. That seems to be true if I've waited 30 minutes, 45 minutes or a full hour before eating. The food seems to trigger it.

I've been finding myself most nauseous in the mornings while working out. I'll take my Byetta, put together lunch for the kids, feed them and then eat my breakfast--either a greek yogurt with walnuts or 1/2 cup (cooked) oatmeal with walnuts and milk. Then, I head to the gym. It's usually about twenty minutes into a heavy weight routine that I feel it the most--not so much during a cardio workout--but certainly after I've done a lot of crunches. It seems that working the core sends me into a more nauseous state.

I haven't had any issues with hives or itching. I also take metformin though I only take 500mg twice a day.

Hi been on byetta since october (big fan of it).
And no hives or itching occasionally as i withdraw the needle it can bring some byetta back and that can sting a little and there is a smell which reminds me of primary school (pencil shavings and pee maybe ?). Anyone else notice you can find spots which have no pain at all when the needle goes in and others which hurt like hell.

nausea seems to be something i associate with rapid drops in blood sugar having a level of 13 and dropping to 6 ( 234 > 108) in an hour or less makes me feel sick. However if i am good and don't eat things that raise my sugar so high I don't get to feel sick. My metformin dose is 500 x 2

Yes, sometimes I have spots that really hurt - it's hard to control the wincing! And then, some days I have no trouble at all.

I've been using Byetta for 1-1/2 years along w/1000 mg. Metformin twice daily and I still have bouts of nausea every so often. I have been trying to watch what I'm eating before I get nauseous and for me, it seems to be milk products (I am not lactose intolerant) such as milk in a bowl of cereal and/or sometimes yogurt. I have never gotten hives (thank goodness) but sometimes sneeze whenever I get nauseous, sort of like a mini allergic reaction. My nausea lasts about an hour though, wish it was only a minute or two!
