Hello Everyone,
My name is Lisa and I'm new to the forum,
I have been on Byetta 5micrograms and Glucophage SR 2000mg for two weeks now and it has lowered my blood sugars slightly from an average 10.6 to 8.9 (sometimes as high as 13.7 if ive dared to have any carbs!) I also don't seem to be having the side effects of the feeling sick or appetite suppression, In fact I've gained 4lbs!
I am due an increase to 10 micrograms in 2 weeks and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this, and if so, did the 10micrograms work better?

Hi:

Started on 5 micrograms of Byetta 2/10/2011. A1C down from 8.2 to 6.8. Lost about 25 lbs.
Changing from 5 to 10 micrograms in a short period of time would not work for me.

I started Byetta on July 23,2012. I'd been experiencing morning highs in the 160-80 range and insanely high readings of 300+.
I'm into my 3rd week now and have lost 4#. Morning highs are down to 100-120 now. Minimal lows and occasional spikes to 200 now.
I'm on 5 mcg and have just had this prescription refilled. I also take 2500 of Metformin and 10 mg of Glipizide XL.
I'm a very happy camper now and fortunate to have a generous prescription plan.
Dave
