TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Hi:

Would be very interested in hearing what to expect with Byetta.. I have had diabetes for almost 45 years.
BS number averages about 140-150/ Starting on 5 mg.

Thanks

Well I am on Byetta fo a little over a year. Took 5 mcg then 10 mcg after the second month. My BS ranges 120 - 170. I did not lose the weight some people talk about and will be going back to my Endocrinologist soon. I don't know if the very small improvements I saw ( A1C went from 6.4 to 6.1) over the last year warranted the cost for the Byetta treatment. My insurance sucks, maybe yours will cover more but I hope you see better results than I did. I also take Metformin and Amaryl. Good Luck.
