This the plain truth the is no money in a cure! Can you imagine the financial impact to the economy should they cure diabetes?

Regarding Pasta I highly recommend Dreamfields.

Hi, Doug:

My GP also has Type 2 so he really is sympathetic. I went to a really highly-respected Endo in this area, nice man, but it was expensive and he really seemed like he was a Byetta cheerleader. Byetta wasn't my miracle cure by any means, although I was a total dietary rule breaker until I saw my dad pass away from complications last year. Loved his pasta. Diet is more important than the meds, I suspect, but Big Pharma can't package it.

Keep strong,
Tony

Hi Tony,

I am between Endos right now, I'm waiting to hear from and get an appointment with a new Dr. Part of my problem is that I have not been able to find a Dr to work with me, I had been complaining about my weight gain and it fell on deaf ears.

Hey, Doug

I'd suggest getting off the Actos ASAP ... I put on 10 pounds when I started taking that. It's one of the drugs contraindicated for weight loss. My doc understood and switched me to Prandin.

I think you are spot-on with the new diet! I eat yogurt or omelets for breakfast and use real butter or EVOO. It was the carbs that were my problem: white flour and sugar are the culprits.

Ricky Joe, I think that is a great idea. Could start a forum on it.

Thanks again Doug. I am definiately going to get the book.

Addiction to Carbs is like any other addiction, so breaking the cycle is impossible until you get it out of your system. They say it takes 10 DAYS, so like any other obstacle I have ever had to face (I quit smoking), I picked a day and told myself it is 10 days I can do this. The book is called the 30 day Diabetes Cure and is available online from: More Information it costs ~$45 w/shipping and this is the associated website: http://myhealingkitchen.com/
The plan is easy, it's the education of why that is the value of the book. If money is tight you can see if your Public Library has a copy.

Hello, I take Byetta 10 units twice a day before meals. I also take between 40 and 80 units of Lantus long acting insulin at night. I'm still struggling with the carbs and can't seem to give up flour, bread, sweet stuff. I've tried the sugar free stuff and it doesn't do much to lower my bg numbers.

I'd be interested in the name of Doug's book also. maybe some of us could work together from the book.

Thanks Doug for sharing your story with me. I to have been fighting against giving up the good ole sugar stuff. I have not jumped on the exercise thing yet. But I figure that is going to be the only way to get these number down. Hey, do you mine sharing the name of the book, so I can look into it and give it a try. I really need to find something new to try. I think your number are looking great after 4 days, good going and keep it up.

I have been in denial about my diabetes for 10 years. What I mean is I have been unwilling of give up candy and cake and refined flour products, so I take Byetta, Metformin, Actos, and Avandia. I exercise and my AC1 is consistently below 7, and my doctors have been happy. Well I am sick of injecting myself, and more so worried that I have not been able to lose any weight even though I workout 3 or more times a week. I spend a lot of time online, and came across a website claiming a 30-day cure to diabetes, it took several weeks of thought and I decided to buy the book, and start the 10 day phase on this past Sunday, Saturday night I had my farewell desserts (Apple pie, Lemon Meringue pie, a Pear tart, half a pound of M&Ms, just to give you an idea). My Monday morning GL was 197 and my bedtime was 114. On Day two my fasting GL was 174 and bedtime was 131..today my fasting glucose was 134 at 7AM and after a 30 minute workout and before breakfast it was 104. What I'm getting at is just 4 days and my glucose is getting into normal ranges, and more so my point is this clearly shows it is what you eat. So what am I eating, for the first 10 days: Veggies minus potatoes, but pumpkin/squash is in, legumes, cheese, eggs, yogurt, milk, meat &/or tofu and healthy fats: butter and EVO. After 10 days fruit and WHOLE-GRAINS get added, after that not sure haven't read that far yet, but I can pretty well assume SUGAR will never be reintroduced. At the end of 30 days, basically the New year, I'll see if I can get off or reduce my meds, and how I feel, and who know maybe I can be happy with getting my sweets from fruit. I know it is a struggle, but if I can take the step so can you. Happy Holidays!

Does anyone take insulin and byetta? I been wondering if a nighttime insulin and byetta during the day would help my am bs highs, since byetta does not work through the night. I take metformin at night, but that does not seem to be working and I am waking up with 200+ bs.
