I was a counselor at Camp Joslin the summer of 1991. I loved Dr. Graham...he was actually my Doctor at Joslin until he retired. Big shout out to Paul Madden and the Gannon boys as well.

It is great to see some new names here. I am sorry that I have been lax in keeping this updated regularly. Life has brought me too many challenges at once. That said a brief update..
Seems that , believe it or not, the good old Joslin Diabetes Center wanted the camp to change it's name. Apparently, when they handed over the camp to the Barton Center they figured the name belonged to them not to the camp!! After a spring of negotiations and involvement from some hard working camp staff those who make decisions in Brookline decided to be generous and allow the camp to continue with the name. Shame on them for even considering that move!
A great deal of credit goes to Kevin Wilkoxen who kept us up to date and worked diligently on behalf of the camp and it's members and alumni. Raise a toast as you get a chance.
Please keep checking to see more updates. Let's try to get some members in here as well. Trying to get some pics on here from my stash.....
Keep the faith and good health to you all!
Peter

Here is my group from late July 1967. I am wearing a red and blue shirt. It is nice to be just another person with type 1 diabetes among many others.

This brings back memories. I was there back in the early 60's. It was a blast to find out that I was not alone with this challenge. I still to this day have the laundry bag they gave me and my certificate for winning the archery contest.

Not sure about modern day but it lasted 3 weeks.

Well it took me a while to figure out how to get to this page. I see there aren't many here. I was a camp member in 1972 and I only went that one year. I have been in contact with Peter and he gave me alot of info on some of the guys I went to camp with. I remember some things about camp, like the mess hall. I think I remember making ice cream?? Another thing I think... they made a spook house in our cabin. I remember the store where we went to buy stuff. I also remember I think that we had a dance or something with the girls camp and I had to dance with a girl before I could get my snack for the night. You guy's might be able to comfirm these memories, seeing that you went there more than once. Hope to see more people joining.

Okay there has to be some of you out there!!!
I gotta believe that camp Joslin is fairly well represented among the many in the Tu-diabetes world.
So, jump on board and let's create something that Dr. Charles Graham would fully endorse............
