TuDiabetes - A Community for People Touched by Diabetes

Hey, I am not Canadian, but I LOVE Canadian bands.

Here are some of my favorites:
-Broken Social Scene (K.C. Accidental, Apostle of Hustle)
-The Dears
-Godspeed! You Black Emperor
-The Arcade Fire
-The Besnard Lakes
-Feist, Emily Haines (Metric)
-Stars
-The New Pornographers
-Great Lake Swimmers

Today, I learned that Stars released a new album ("In Our Bedroom After the War") this week. I am very happy about it.

I hope I am not alone on this! :)

L-o-o-o-v-e Leonard Cohen...not a band, but hey!...Worth mentioning nonetheless. Such a great singer, a great man...so talented, yet so humble.

Gosh, it's hard to see a title of a discussion like "Canadian Music" and not go for the shameless plug ;)

Here's a link to some free recordings from my now defunct indie band in Ottawa, Canada

It's no Celine Dion (Yuck! Sorry, couldn't resist) but it's pretty good otherwise, in my not-so-humble opinion that is :P

A lot of the Canadian bands I liked in the 90s aren't doing anything anymore. Wide Mouth Mason was pretty cool as well there was a little folksy band called The Waltons which I kinda dug.

LOL my boyfriend LOVES Celine. I'm like, meh, she's okay I guess, not crazy about her.

Personally, I prefer Shania Twain.
