Children are now covered in the provinces of Ontario, Saskatchewan, Newfoundland and New Brunswick. Ontario became the first province to cover adults with Type 1 diabetes. Here in Newfoundland we are working to convince the provincial government to come on board and be the second province to offer pump coverage to adults. Please, if you live in this province or are originally from this province, consider contacting the Minister of Health (Ross Wiseman) and the Premier and ask them to support an expansion of our pump program. Contact information for them can be found at http://www.assembly.nl.ca/members/cms/membersdirectlines.asp
Please feel free to use the letter that we have already issued to all MHAs. It can be found at www.diabetesadvocacy.com/blog.htm

If your province has not yet began covering insulin pump therapy, join us! There are groups all over the country working to see this happen!!
