I am a volunteer with the Canadian Diabetes Association and want to let everyone know of the upcoming celebration for the CDA's "Camp Kakhamela" here in BC. Camp was an amazing experience for me (I still talk about it and it was 30+ years ago)and made me realize that there were lots of other kids having to deal with this disease...If you were a camper, medical staff, volunteer you are welcome to come out and celebrate...
September 15th 11:30am-4:00pm at the Richmond Olympic Oval

CDA Kids Camps ...one of my reasons , why I participate with Team Diabetes and raise funds for the Association ...and plan to continue as long as I am able , so more kids can go to Camps ...a very safe place and a chance for the Parents to have a break !!
Tomorrow the celebration in Richmond , BC
I read about 17 year young hockey player Anthony Ast, Camper in the Province News paper and located the link to the Courier paper http://www.vancourier.com/sports/Diabetes+doesn+stop+giant+hockey+d...
ENJOY !

the info is on the CDA site, registration is fairly early in the year - they also have a family camp at the end of the summer
I second what SuzP said , Theo ...do give Canadian Diabetes Ass'n , Vancouver a call ? ...I think one has to have reached the age of 7 to attend Camp ??...it gives Caregivers ( Moms and Dads ) a very important break too !
