I'm a type 1 diabetic of 10 years and pump users for 9 years, am currently writing my undergraduate thesis on a topic that is close to home: the development of insulin pump funding in Ontario, B.C. and Newfoundland & Labrador, and am wondering if anyone has any resources (i.e. news articles/releases, key informants about the topics, research papers, etc.) or personal stories about how insulin pump funding came about in the above three provinces (i.e., in Ontario it was a result of a Bill 55, but who were the key players in getting that bill passed?).
Any information would be greatly appreciated!
http://www.diabetesadvocacy.com/pump_coverage.htm as a GREAT start ; Barb is a member and from NF .Canadian Diabetes Association has info too ; I am an Advocate with the Ass'n and we were in Victoria in May with the ASK for insulin pumps for over age 18 .
I promise to locate and provide more information later .
This is , I believe , very recently posted on the CDA's website .
