Whenever I get a new glucagon kit from the pharmacy, it comes in a cardboard box. My first kit (12 years ago) came in a handy white plastic case. I've seen newer (red) ones in pictures, but I've never been given one with my prescription. The plastic case I have is getting a little worse for the wear, so I'd like a replacement. Does anyone know how to get one? Does the doctor specify on the Rx that the glucagon kit should include a carrying case?

Here are two examples:

Wow those kits seem awesome. I have always had the cardboard boxes, I had no idea they even had cases available I will check with my pharmacy and repost my findings.

I was reminded last night at a Medtronic pumpers event , to order a carrying case ..I called 1-800-268-4446 , Toronto, ON , Eli Lilly this morning and asked for 2 and will receive 2 in the mail next week ...we all agree , that the case should be av. at our pharmacy and I will mention this to the Staff as a sugestion . I''ll post here, when the cases arrive !

Is Lilly just sending the cases (not including a glucagon kit)?

Please post a picture when they arrive. I hope they're the nice red ones.

Just the cases , as requested ...no charge ...here is evidence ...pix has a bit of glare: blame the photographer !!
I probably should have put my kit in before I took the pix ..did not think of that ...wanted to show , before I have lunch.

Thanks again Halifax, NS gal ... Lilly may get a few more requests ?? I should call them and thank them for their prompt service !

No I don't have family on the west coast. My daughter just recently went on the pump we have been pumping for just over two weeks now, and things are not going as smoothly as i'd like but we will get there! I am certainly goingt o spread the word to my D firends aboutthis case. I distribute a Diabetes Newsletter at work and this will be a featured article. Thanks for sharing and asking the questions..............ciao

No problem. Glad to help.

(My only complaint about the case is that's blank. I expected it would say "Glucagon Emergency Kit for Low Blood Sugar" like the case at the top of the page. I guess I'll just have to print a label for it.)

Thanks for the information, I was wondering why it came in a cardboard box and how wrecked it would get carrying it with us...I called Eli Lilly this morning and they are sending me two carrying cases for glucagon.
